The Birches
This family owned building lot for many years as they raised their family just down the hill.  They dreamed of one day having a house built facing the fantastic westerly views of the White Mountains.  The timeline of the build was from late fall, through the winter with final touches completed in the summer.  The building site was challenging, it was high on top of a hill and the winds from the north seemed to come directly from Mt. Washington.  Not to mention it was a record setting winter for both snow fall and low temperatures.  The homeowners were present for breaking ground, but were fortunate enough to spend much of the winter in a warmer climate.  We had just finished the framing portion of the build upon their return, which made for an exciting and helpful transition as the finishing details were worked out.

At the home owner's request the house was built into the side of the hill, which worked well with the daylight basement and garage design.  In addition, they included a geo-thermal system, radiant heat throughout, a backup generator, finished basement and a central vacuuming system.  However, I believe what sets us apart from other builders is the fine details of craftsmanship you see in the design, from the custom master bedroom closet to the various built-ins scattered throughout the home.  This project will forever hold a special place in my heart as it was my first complete project as the new owner of Bartow Construction.  The finished product is stunning.  I am very proud of not only the finished project, but also my close partnership with the homeowners from start to finish.
